The Chairman, the Board, Chief Executive Officer/Director General and Staff of Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) wish to extend our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the Second President of the Republic of Kenya, H.E. Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi.

As the TVET family, we join fellow Kenyans and the rest of the world in celebrating a great teacher who helped to nurture the firm foundation of technical and vocational education and training in Kenya and set the pace for the region.

We will forever cherish and remember him for his foresight in the establishment of 8-4-4 system, which had an emphasis on technical subjects, right from primary to secondary level. This led to a prolific construction of workshops to facilitate the teaching of subjects such as woodwork and home economics across the country. This benefited millions of students and set the foundation for skills acquisition of the labour market and entrepreneurship.

May the Almighty God rest his soul in eternal peace.
