The Principal Secretary for the State Department for Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Dr. Esther Muoria, and TVET Authority Director General Dr. Kipkirui Langat yesterday visited Likoni TVC, Mombasa County for a stakeholder engagement forum.
The PS and the DG toured the college facility for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. The PS advised the institution to develop the facility to be a center of excellence in refrigeration and air-conditioning by forging a strong partnership with industry and the upcoming Dongo Kundu Special Economic Zone. The PS directed the institute principal Ms. Samira Abdallah to expedite the process of getting stable and reliable electrical power at the institution.
During the meet, Director General Dr Langat noted that there was an acute shortage of licensed experts in Refrigeration and Air conditioning and such partnerships would go a long way in channeling competent trainees required by the industry.
The PS was accompanied by the County Commissioner Mombasa County Mr. Abdirisack Jaldesa, Ag Director Standard Development Compliance, and Enforcement, Dr. Wanyeki, and TVET Regional Director Mr. Peter Mwangi among other dignitaries.
