Outgoing Principal Secretary for Vocational and Technical Training (VTT) Dr. Kevit Desai handed over to the new PS Dr. Julius Jwan ceremony at the Ministry of Education offices.

Dr. Desai said during his two-year tenure, the department managed to create 30 new TVET institutions across the country, in a bid to ensure that each constituency had at least one institution.

Dr. Jwan acknowledges the efforts and the steps that his predecessor and current Principal Secretary East Africa Community Dr. Kevit Desai has made in laying a strong foundation for the sectors growth.

“It is no doubt that Dr. Kevit Desai did a tremendous job while at this docket and the number of partnerships he initiated cannot go unnoticed especially ensuring that Kenya is placed on the global map when it comes to technical skills and I believe he will scale the same at his new docket,”

Dr. Jwan takes over at a time when Kenya is taking steps in being a member of the WorldSills International and also looking forward to host the World Skills competition in 2025.

He also promises to increase enrollment of students into TVET Institutions where enrollment is still low.

Dr. Jwan was the CEO of Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) before his new appointment
