Today, the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) had the honour of hosting a high-level delegation from the Kingdom of Eswatini, led by Madam Naniki Mnisi, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET). The purpose of the visit was to facilitate an information-sharing session focused on key areas of TVET development and governance.
The delegation sought to benchmark TVETA’s best practices in the following areas:
– Legislative and policy frameworks governing TVET
– Accreditation and quality assurance mechanisms
– Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) and curriculum development processes
– Trainer qualifications and professional development
– Industry linkages and work-based learning models
– Sustainable TVET funding strategies

Madam Mnisi was accompanied by representatives from the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Eswatini Qualifications Authority, Eswatini Higher Education Council, Ministry of Finance, the business community, NGOs, Royal Eswatini Sugar Corporation, and the European Union.
In the absence of TVETA’s Acting Director General Mr. Timothy Nyongesa, the delegation was received by Dr. Paul Wanyeki, Acting Director for Standards Development, Compliance and Enforcement. He was joined by senior officers Mr. Paul Muriithi, Mr. Emmanuel Korir, Ms. Esther Mukiha, Dr. Peris Njoroge, Mr. Japhet Ngeno, Mr. Andrew Too, and Mr. Alfred Mwanzia.
Madam Mnisi expressed her sincere appreciation for the insights shared and reaffirmed Eswatini’s commitment to continued collaboration and mutual learning in advancing TVET systems across the region.
