Director General (TVETA) Dr. Kipkirui Langat today officially opened TVETA Internal Quality Audit at a meeting held at the TVETA board room.

TVETA is working towards being ISO certified and conducting internal quality audits is part of the process.

During the meeting Dr. Kipkirui Langat urged the staff to always do things the right way since TVETA is a regulatory itself.

“Being a regulator is a sensitive space so we need to be effective and efficient in all things we do and this is why this process is important. After this internal audit process, the next step is to apply for certification from ISO,” Dr. Langat said.

The Head of Quality Management Systems (QMS) Dr. Dominic Omboto briefed the staff on the objectives of the audit and urged strict observance of the timetable and maintain confidentiality.

The objective of the exercise is to determine the conformity of TVETA’s management system, or parts of it, with audit criteria. It is also aimed at determining the ability of the management system to ensure TVETA meets applicable statutory, regulatory and contractual requirements; and also determine the effectiveness of the management system to ensure TVETA can reasonably expect to achieving its specified objectives.

The process is scheduled to take two days after which the report on the findings will be handed to the Director General.
