APPLICATION PROCESS FOR INSTITUTION

Steps for application for registration of a TVET institution:

  • Click on the link mis.tveta.go.ke
  • A page with Institution and Trainer/Assessor/Verifier opens
  • For the first time application for an institution, click register.

For those already with an existing account, click on the login button appearing on the institution’s bar and continue with the application process.

  • For new applicants, after creating an account, an email link will be sent to the institution email provided for activation. Click on the link to activate the account and set the password.
  • The portal will open a page with five areas to be filled.
  • Fill on General Information. Provide the specified information and upload the required documents. Save and Continue to the next stages on Infrastructure, Sanitation and Health, Management, Courses, and Training Staff details.
  • Confirmation is the last phase. Confirm your details, click on Declare and
  • A payment page opens up. Make the required payment.

APPLICATION STEPS FOR TRAINER/VERIFIER/ASSESSOR:

  • Click on the link mis.tveta.go.ke
  • A page with Institution and Trainer/Assessor/Verifier opens
  • For first time applicants, click register.

For those with an already existing account, click on the login button appearing on the trainer’s bar and continue with the application process.

  • For new applicants, after creating an account, an email link will be sent to the personal email provided for activation. Click on the link to activate the account and set the password.
  • The portal will open a page with five areas to be filled. These include Personal Information, Contact Information, Education, Experience, Confirmation. Click, save and continue after every step.
  • After the applicant gives consent that the information provided is factual, the applicant submits the information.
  • After submission, the applicant is automatically led to the licensing page. Select the area of licensing and then click on apply.
  • This opens up to the payment page. Click and pay the required amount.

IMPORTANT

NOTE: Individuals interested to apply for licensing as TVET trainer/assessor and verifier must do so by 30th June 2020.

Those who may have not applied and/or licensed by then will be considered non-compliant hence ineligible to train or serve as assessors or verifiers in the TVET sector.

 

TVET Act 2013 states:

Section 23 (3) Any person who is not registered at the commencement of this Act shall comply with this Act within six months from the date of such commencement.

 

PENALTY

Section 56. Any person who commits an offense under this Act in respect of which no penalty has been specifically provided is liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding one million Kenya shillings or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or to both.

 

NOTE: Applicants can now comfortably make applications and track the status of their application on their mobile devices or computers without calling or visiting TVETA offices!
