The Director General of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority, Mr. Timothy Nyongesa Katiambo, today hosted Nader Imani, Vice President for Global Education at Festo Didactic, for discussions on potential areas of collaboration aimed at strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Kenya.

Dr. Imani, who was accompanied by Faith Langat, Innovation and Technical Skills Expert for Africa at Festo Didactic, explored opportunities for partnership between TVETA, Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutions (KATTI), and Festo Didactic. The discussions focused on collaboration in the WorldSkills Competition, as well as advancing competency-based TVET training and the development of Industry 4.0 skills within the sector.

The meeting also highlighted Festo Didactic’s Digital Learning Solutions for TVET, developed in partnership with UNESCO, which includes a Household Electrician Course designed to equip over 120 million youth who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) across Africa with relevant technical skills. Kenya has been identified as the pilot country for the initiative.

Festo Didactic will work closely with TVETA and other government agencies to ensure that the training solution is aligned with TVETA standards, regulatory frameworks, and accreditation pathways.

The meeting was also attended by Otta Osawa, Deputy Director, Research and Development, James Momanyi, Assistant Director, Corporate Communications, and Andrew Too from the Office of the Director General.
