Strengthening Digital Pedagogy in TVET!
This afternoon, over 500 TVET trainers from 30 National Polytechnics and 4 Special Needs TVET Institutions (SNTVETs) joined a virtual capacity-building session on the Open, Distance and e-Learning (ODeL) Standard.
Facilitated by TVETA staff, the training covered:
- Scope of the ODeL Standard
- Needs assessment, governance & administration
- Accreditation of ODeL centres and programmes
- Human & infrastructure requirements
- Programme and course materials development
- Course delivery, assessments & certification
- Trainee support services
- Monitoring & evaluation of ODeL
This initiative equips trainers to strengthen digital and blended pedagogy, develop competency-based digital content, and deepen their understanding of quality assurance and accreditation.
The training is facilitated by TVETA, in partnership with the Commonwealth of Learning (COL). Through this collaboration, National Polytechnics are expected to establish vibrant and functional ODeL Centres—enhancing both access to training and the quality of skills development in the TVET sector.
