Today, staff from the TVET Authority (TVETA) and the Institute of Commercial Management (ICM) continued their nationwide climate conservation initiative by planting over 2,000 trees at Molo Technical and Vocational College (TVC).
Located near the Mau Forest Complex—home to the upcoming Integrated Conservation and Livelihood Improvement Program to be launched by H.E. President William Ruto next week—Molo TVC provided an ideal site for this impactful exercise.
Despite the morning drizzle, the dedicated team, including Molo TVC administrators, trainers, and trainees, planted trees within the college compound and on an adjacent parcel of land generously donated by the local community.

This activity is part of a broader partnership between TVETA, ICM, and TVET institutions to green both public and private colleges, supporting the Government’s ambitious goal to grow 15 billion trees by 2032.
Speaking at the event, Mr. James Momanyi, TVETA Head of Corporate Communications—representing CEO Mr. Timothy Nyongesa Katiambo—emphasized the Authority’s commitment to working with partners to scale up climate action within the TVET sector.
“We thank ICM and our TVET institutions for joining us in this noble initiative, which aligns with the government’s environmental agenda. I urge students to embrace tree planting not only at school but also at home, as a green environment is vital to our survival,” he said.
ICM Regional Director for Africa, Mr. Kevin Osundwa, reaffirmed their commitment to environmental stewardship:
“We all know that if you take care of the environment, the environment will take care of you. We’re proud to partner with TVETA and TVET institutions and will be rolling out this initiative countrywide.”
Molo TVC Deputy Principal, Mr. Joseph Simba, expressed gratitude for being selected and requested continued collaboration, noting the college has ample land set aside for future conservation efforts.
