The TVET Authority today joined the State Department for TVET and other sector agencies in welcoming a high-level delegation from Cameroon on a benchmarking mission to Kenya’s TVET system.
Hosted at the Ministry of Education, the delegation is in the country to gain insights into Kenya’s national TVET framework, visit selected institutions, and engage with industry players to better understand linkages between training and the labour market.
The TVETA team, led by Dr. Paul Wanyeki (Ag. Director, Standards Development, Compliance and Enforcement), highlighted the Authority’s mandate in regulation, standards development, and quality audits. He was accompanied by Deputy Director, Accreditation, Mr. Alfred Mwanzia, and Corporate Communications Head, Mr. James Momanyi.
The Ag. Secretary for TVET Mr Joseph Njau provided an overview of Kenya’s education system and the role of agencies in advancing skills development, while TVET CDACC’s Senior Communications Officer, Ms. Lindah Wanyaga, outlined the Council’s role in curriculum development, assessment, and certification.
The Cameroonian delegation was led by Ms. Prudence Forchap Nkon, General Secretary at the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training, alongside Ms. Tanya Savrimootoo, Senior Economist at the World Bank.
This engagement underscores Kenya’s growing role as a regional leader in TVET reforms and international collaboration.
