The TVET Authority has convened a four-day stakeholders’ workshop in Machakos to validate the draft Digital Learning Content Development Standards and Guidelines.

With the rapid growth of digital technology and its integration into education and training, digital content creation has become a vital skill within the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) subsector. Establishing clear standards and guidelines will help ensure the development of high-quality, relevant, and accessible digital learning resources that are responsive to both industry demands and learner needs.
This important exercise is supported by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and brings together a wide range of stakeholders, including representatives from the Ministry of ICT and other line ministries, State Department of TVET, Kenya National Commission for UNESCO, GIZ, Commission for University Education, Kenya School of Government, Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS), ICT Authority, Kenya School of TVET, National Polytechnics, Technical Vocational Colleges both public and private, TVET Directorates in universities and entrepreneurs in digital content creation.

The outcomes of the workshop will provide a strong foundation for harmonizing digital learning content development across the TVET sector, promoting innovation, and strengthening Kenya’s capacity and resilience in enhancing access, flexibility and inclusive skills development.
