Dr. Hazel Gachunga is a senior lecturer at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and has a considerable wide teaching, research and consultancy experience in the areas of Leadership, Change Management, Human Resource Management, and Organizational Behaviour amongst others. She is a holder of a Doctorate from the University of Nairobi/University of Sheffield and an alumni of IESE on international faculty development and executive programs management. She has also conducted extensive research in the areas of leadership from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom. Hazel is a board member at the Institute of Human Resource Management Kenya, college board and also a board member in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority Kenya. She is a certified Balanced Score Card Expert and Change Management Professional. Hazel has conducted consultancy assignments in the areas of People, Performance and Change Management for leading companies in the private and public sector including regional and international bodies like COMESA and the United Nations.
She has published widely in the areas of organizational politics, human resource management practices, organizational justice and leadership. She is a lead consultant in the evaluation of companies for the Company of Year Awards (COYA/OPI) and Manager of the Year Awards (MOYA) and Chief Executive Officer CEO Award hosted by the Kenya Institute of Management. This has given her a wealth of exposure on leadership and change dynamics of winning companies in Kenya.
